Rare pu-erh tea with long-lasting sweetness for beginners AND connoisseurs

Hailing from the historical Yiwu mountain range in Yunnan, this rare raw pu-erh is highly sought after by pu-erh tea connoisseurs for its quality. Yiwu teas are known for their long-lasting sweet aftertaste that even newcomers can ease into the world of aged tea. Carefully crafted from leaves of wild tea trees over 200 years old, this tea has more depth and nutrients compared to other teas made in the same region.

Expect smooth and well-balanced flavors with a lingering floral scent and a lightly roasted nut flavor.

✓ Regulates bad cholesterol
✓ Promotes healthy metabolism
✓ Promotes weight and fat loss
✓ Improves eyesight
✓ Improves focus and mental health

Western Brewing: Portion 2-3 grams of tea for 12 fl oz water, and brew at 200-212°F for 3 minutes using your favorite infuser. Re-steep up to 3 times.

Gongfu Brewing: Portion 3-5 grams of tea for 4 fl oz of water, and brew at 212°F for 30-60 seconds using a Gaiwan or a Yixing teapot. Re-steep up to 5-10 times.

All teas from the Camellia Sinensis tea plant contain naturally-occurring caffeine, and our Yiwu Wild Tree Raw Pu-erh tea has medium-high caffeine content. Still exploring flavors, Mansa is a good guide

I love green tea, but am fascinated by roasting and aging processes (I come from coffee world, though I've left coffee behind for my nerves and to have less fuss in the morning with grinding and filters and such); pu-erh tea is really intriguing to me and while I'm not sure it will be a favorite, I have been very thankful to Mansa for the detailed guides, immaculate presentation, packaging (including hand-written notes on terroir and brewing for some limited releases), and for introducing me to different pu-erh teas. I like this tea, maybe less than the smoky pu-erh that Mansa offers, but it has a clean and delicate flavor that comes after a complex aroma.

I brew with a trekking-friendly titanium pour-over made by Silverant, that allows for simple and precise pre-steep of three seconds (just dip the strainer in the carafe, count to 3, and lift it out) and for easy multiple steeps. Titanium is a very bio-compatible metal (vs, say, aluminum) and light and durable. It may lack tea-ceremony vibe, but makes up for it in convenience, esp for carrying into the wilderness.

Hi Patricia, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on our Yiwu 2018. We're sorry to hear that you found this tea bland for your palate. Yiwu raw pu-erh is known for its lasting sweet notes that are very elegant and can come across as subtle compared to ripe pu-erh and other dark teas. We recommend you try our [Anhua 2013] Blooming Golden Flower Brick tea for a bolder flavor profile for your palate. Thank you again for sharing, and let us know if we can help in any way! Kind Regards, Ella

    All day tea bliss

Ripe pu'er has never been my cup of tea, but this raw pu'er is amazing, a welcome addition to my standard green and Yunnan black favorites. On a pu'er day, I apportion 6g, and steep it for 30 seconds in 8 oz water, 7-8 times over the course of the day. Every cup is excellent.

Hi Jason, Thanks for the excellent review on our Wild Lao Raw Pu'er! We are delighted to hear that you enjoy our raw pu-erh, making it an addition to your classic favorites! Raw pu-erh has very different qualities compared to ripe pu-erh. So I encourage you to try other types of raw pu-erh, such as [Bulang 2017] Raw Pu’er. We hope to hear from you again in the future, and we wish you all the best in your 'Pu'er days' :)

Full bodied golden, a little figgy, with a sweet grassiness

A puerh, no doubt, but with a lightness of a green tea. Full bodied golden, a little figgy, with a sweet grassiness that came to full bloom on infusion 3rd.
