Balanced + Smoky
[Fuding 2014] Silver Needle
Who doesn’t love springtime? The buds after a long winter energize your soul, and the sweet scent of daffodils brings you delight. A cup of our aged Silver Needle will bring you back the memories of springtime: a moment full of bright, sweet, and refined flavors. Its initial honeysuckle note brings you to a fresh botanical garden with the aroma of toasted buttery French croissant. Its flavors are delicately balanced yet full-bodied with a beautiful smoky aftertaste, like a carefully charred marshmallow. Aged for 6 years, this Silver Needle has rich honey notes, often missing from fresh white tea.
To make this Silver Needle, the artisans from Taimu Mountain in Fuding, the home of Chinese white tea, hand-plucked these young first flush buds one by one in the early spring. A prime harvest of delicate, needle-shaped silver buds with no mature leaves or stem, it is considered the jewel of white teas. Once reserved for imperial dignitaries, its rarity and craftsmanship give this luxurious white tea its exceptional taste and quality.
