Our Tea of the Month for August 2020, this ripe pu-erh is made from ancient tea tree materials from Bulang Mountain. It's rare to find such quality tea material made into ripe pu-erh, but this is one of them.

It has nutty oatmeal cookie and raisin notes with a unique balance of depth and clean finish. A true delight!

Note: [Bulang 2017] Ancient Tree Ripe Pu'er, available in 1oz for a limited time, is a cha tou, or tea rocks that form naturally during the fermentation process of ripe pu-erh. It also can be brewed more extensively (6-8 times for Bulang 2015 vs. 8-10+ times for Bulang 2017).

Tasting Notes:  Biscotti, oatmeal, almond milk

Terroir  Bulang Mountain, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan

Bulang 2015 Ancient Tree Ripe Pu'er

I absolutely loved this tea!! The tasting notes of biscotti and almond milk are definitely more and more prevalent as the tea steeps and the sweet after taste is absolutely lovely. Definitely writing down as one of my favorites from Mansa Tea!

    Bulang Ripe Puerh

I've had the 2014, 2015 and 2017 raw versions of this tea, and the ripe pu'er is so so different! Did you know that this dark tea actually starts as a green tea?! I didn't either, but that's why I'm learning! I usually find ripe puers to be a bit too strong on what I call the mushroom taste (no shade - I love mushrooms), but this one is a bit more mellow and well rounded. Maybe it's because it comes from such a quality varietal?
