Our modern interpretation of tea pet for good luck

Tea lovers often keep clay tea pets close by for good luck during gongfu tea sessions. They place a tea pet, often of animal figures, on a tea tray and pour tea over it to absorb the tea and nourish it. Tea masters also use the piece to gauge the water temperature before starting tea sessions. They pour hot water on the tea pet to check the water is hot throughout the ceremony.

There are many types of tea pets, but ones made of Yixing clay are the most popular ones. We decided to take our modern interpretation of tea pets and design them out of porcelain. Enjoy the company of your favorite animal during your tea time.

    Porcelain Bunny, Just As Advertised

The bunny arrived in good condition & looks just as expected. I will not likely use “as” a tea pet, but ordered more because wife used to collect bunnies (for many years), this was a freebie (Mansa’s birthday gift to me), and it was a nice quality, unique, stylized piece. One thing - something said I’d get more info on what the piece is used for. If I did, I missed it, so had to do a Web search for “what is a tea pet,” but that’s a minor thing.

    Hi John,

Thank you for your review. We hope your wife is happy with her new tea pet bunny added to her collection.

Tea pets are usually part of a gongfu tea ceremony, and our pour extra water and brewed tea over them. We will incorporate your feedback and create a small insert about tea pets in the future.

    Thank you again!

    I love my tea moose

I didn’t know about ceramic animals and tea ceremony.

I share my tea with my new porcelain moose. He keeps me company while I enjoy my morning cup.
