the perfect sized gaiwan. i need only to weigh the leaves and set the temperatures on my water pot and set the timer …i always have the same volume of water volume to leaves…. resulting in consistent brews regardless of tea types..yes, it’s small and yes it takes some effort,..yes, it takes some time. but the results are well worth the effort. only a tea lover would understand.

From my experience at Mansa’s Gaiwan workshop, I could tell that the gaiwan I was previously using was not the right one for me, it was too small and very thin. So I decided to purchase this one and it was the perfect size for my hands. I really like the thickness of the porcelain. It feels like it keeps the gaiwan from getting too hot to handle. This is my go to teapot for Chinese green tea, fine black tea and oolongs.

I’m brand new to understanding tea so Im trying new tea ware and new teas. I was having trouble with larger Gaiwans and was making messes and burning my hand often. The new 150ml is perfect for my hand and it’s a pleasure to use. I keep it on my counter and when pass by practice my Gaiwan technique. It’s a winner!
